Our license keys here don't go out during the build process. Both Office and Windows get activated afterwards. Its a PITA to keep discovering clients, then getting latest status, then assigning the recommended key and then running the activation. Is there any way for this process to be automated. So the server hunts for clients with Office or Windows that is not activated then does the above automatically?

Switch to a KMS server. Thats what it is designed for. It will be zero touch.

We ran a KMS host for a few years but the switch to Win10 we moved onto Active Directory Based Activation (ADBA) which is touted as the replacement for KMS

Well we are also in the same boat and would like to ask the same question. We have KMS server but I have to do all the activation manually by selecting the keys. How can you make it automatic??

I have (had) a KMS server which hosts everything up to Office 2016 and Windows 10. I turned it off a couple of months back, after implementing AD activation it just became redundant. AD activation just seems quicker and more reliable - I don't have to go into VAMT to push out activations any more, where KMS was being sloppy.

Publish KMS to DNS?

Plus i think you might have to enter a KMS key if your on Windows 7 pro. Although this could be done part of the imaging processes.
