Resource and room booking in Office 365 / SIMS

Dear all

 

We are looking at a package called Salamander to pull timetable data off SIMS and replace our old booking system in Frog VLE

 

Salamander will extract the data in Exchange Calendar

 

At the moment we have 3 sets of iPads, 2 conference rooms and 2 ICT Rooms that are bookable in VLE

 

What’s the best way to integrate this into an Outlook 365 calendar so it is easy to book stuff for the staff?

Hi Wil, we're one of the sponsors here at Edugeek and provide a package called 'Room Booking System' which integrates with SIMS to sync all timetable data including classes, suspensions, cover and room closures. We also have a feature to enable an iCal feed which could populate an Office 365 calendar.

Hi all,

 

We are hanging on with Frog for room bookings. They are looking at it currently, so it won't be too long before they have MIS integration in there, and external calendar integration either. We don't want to buy into another system when we don't need to.

Salamander looks a good product and we will probably look at getting in next year when we refresh our network (it's probably what put me off doing it this year), but we also use RBS and think it's a great product. We also trialled their sister product for parents evening recently and will probably be purchasing that too.
