Hi

We are a secondary school and we have Microsoft Open Value Subscription Agreement. One of our staff have there personal PC at home and have asked if she can have the office applications installed on her personal PC.

Will office 365 be free for our staff ?

Or if it is a HUP , will the staff need to pay to get the copy of office 365.

Please let me know how this works.

Thanks any suggestions and help will be great.

As far as I am aware, you can use 1 Office 365 license on 5 devices.

whereas HUB will give you Office Professional version and so you can only install on one computer.

Office 365 (desktop) should be available for staff if you take out a tenancy and link your OVS to it - that's what we have and the installable version is then available to users where we have licensed it from the admin page. Our staff mostly use HUP though as we use Office 2016 in school, so they keep parity.

Basically yes, as long as your Office in school is licenced via EES to cover all your numbers, then all your staff (and students!) are entitled to free downloads of Office 365 ProPlus

You should be able to assign the "Office 365 Education Plus for faculty" or "Office 365 Education Plus for students" licenses to staff and students respectively in your Office365 admin area:

The Education Plus one lets users log in to portal.office.com and download Office on up to five computers.

If that doesn't show up in your Office 365 portal, then:

You need the free O365 Edu and then have added Office 365 Education Plus for students and Office 365 Education Plus for faculty these should be unlimited licences and include ProPlus. Talk to your licensing specialist, they should be able to add them to your O365 install.
