[1703, cu] Folder Redirection of Start Menu Win10 1703 not working

We use folder redirection with the start menu on window 10 1607 and works fine. Set up 1703 box and now shows nothing. tried several installs etc , switched box back to 1607 and working again.

Anyone else experienced this issue?

Yes I just have in a test environment. I was only doing a proof of concept with a 10 box to see if it would roll with our 7 GPO's and re-directs. Seems it won't now...

Using roaming profiles? I've found you have to switch to local profiles to get it to work.

MS are moving away from roaming profiles. They would rather you used UEV.

Still, they shouldn't just break functionality. There are some things that UE-V can't do e.g. start menus.

Also which version of 1703 as pro has "depreciated" a lot of GPOs from my understanding but Ent and Edu can still use them currently

Like it or not Microsoft have moved a lot of GPO settings to enterprise/education only.

 

In terms in 1703. I haven't yet tested it. Are you using loopback to enforce the folder redirection?

For us, curiously I don't see loopback as an option, at least not in this location. There are a ton of other settings though https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc978513.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

I just started trialing Folder Redirection using W10 1703 Edu and I have only encountered one error which the "wait for network on computer startup and logon" gpo seemed to fix.

 

Tried logging on to a computer with W10 1703 Pro and it didn't work for me.
