Hi,

We're using Yammer as our daily briefing tool along with sharing information and communicating between each other.

Primary School and seems to be working well.

Excellent, exactly what we're aiming for - pleased I'm on the right track.

My confusion is coming in regards to the recent introduction of Teams and how to utilise the delivery of both systems to replace our aging bulletin board system.

We've not confused the staff with the teams options yet!

It's very basic in terms of we have an all company group for notices for everyone in the school, then a briefing announcements one where this is pulled up in the morning and anyone wanting to communicate what they are doing and whats going on can do so.

Staff are aware that there are apps available and make it easier to post quickly. I also get PM messages through it rather than to personal facebook etc which has happened in the past.

I'd like to further integrate skype for business so that main office can communicate quicker with classroom staff, but i'm wary of the pop ups on screen while teaching.

Yes product lines are starting to get a little blurred, we're tentatively testing Teams with specific users prior to ruling it in or out.

To be honest I think our the level we require will be pretty much the same, the complicated the better.

Thanks for the feedback - very much appreciated. :)

Does anyone have Yammer working to effect in their school?

I'm after examples of it working.

As Hwb 365 users in Wales, Yammer has been turned off due to it not being controllable at a granular level. Not impressed as I used to use it a lot. I suppose I could register with a new email account, but would that mean I had to restart everything/

We are looking at Teams, but after chatting with Mandeep Atwal of Microsoft yesterday, I've decided to wait until Teams for Education is finally released towards the middle of July. Again, I'm up against our Hwb Masters in that Teams is open for staff but not for students due to safeguarding issues.

Gareth, we just set up out own O365 alongside Hwb. Hwb is so restricted and difficult to manage that it didn't make sense to use it for this sort of thing. Still fine for resources, J2E etc though.

Safeguarding issues in a tenant controlled application? That seems illogical and contradictory when you consider that Welsh Assembly Government are recommending that pupils in Wales have access to YouTube and social media websites? Pupils also have unmoderated access to the Outlook email client, which they can use to send/receive emails to/from anyone in the world without any visibility for teachers and safeguarding officers.
