Al_NetSupport Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Many thanks, Al. Additional licenses purchased and all working nicely. Cheers. That's great to hear. Thanks for your continued business and really glad NetSupport DNA is looking after you.
Al_NetSupport Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 Just wanted to share a review that was publsihed today. I met the reviewer at ISTE this year (US equivalent of BETT) where we spent a few hours covering the solution in detail and they then took the software away for an indepth review. This is a link to the full review - NetSupport DNA: IT Asset Management for Schools - The EdTech Roundup Suffice to say his final conclusion was : Overall… What I love most about the NetSupport DNA education suite is the complete customizability to support the technology vision of your specific school or district. Whether you are part of a school or district that has a more open use policy, or a more restricted use policy, NetSupport DNA can be completely customized to your needs. The enormous range of features on both the administrative, teacher & eSafety sides ensure that whatever you’re trying to do with technology management, you’ll be able to. Plus, the interface is incredibly user friendly and the team has a great library of video support as well. As mentioned above, for those interested in learning more, you can download a free trial, contact the NetSupport DNA team or book a demo. In short, regardless of the technology needs of your school or district, I absolutely recommend considering NetSupport DNA for IT management. We also did a short highlight video of our team at the show in Texas. Hope you like, we certainly had fun
simonw Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Hi Can I manage iPad's using DNA/School? I presume each device has to have a licence. How are iPads enrolled and managed etc? Many thanks
Al_NetSupport Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Hi Can I manage iPad's using DNA/School? I presume each device has to have a licence. How are iPads enrolled and managed etc? Many thanks Hi Simon, thanks for the message. meta support DNA 4.5 is due shortly and this will add realtime iPad management so that from an IT perspective you can record all iOS devices, track internet use, provide safeguarding keyword detection and concern reporting. Within the classroom we already offer both Teach and Student apps for iOS allowing for collaboration, testing and basic classroom control. NetSupport DNA is not however an MDM solution but sits and works alongside one. You are also correct, 1 licence per device managed by NetSupport DNA. Hope that helps Al
Primus Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 @Al_NetSupport I know you can't rush these things but it's been coming soon for a little while now and the summer holidays is an ideal time to be able to rollout updates
Al_NetSupport Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 @Al_NetSupport I know you can't rush these things but it's been coming soon for a little while now and the summer holidays is an ideal time to be able to rollout updates Hi @Primus, apologies for the delay in responding. I have just done a full summary on 4.5 on this post : http://www.edugeek.net/forums/enterprise-software/185651-netsupport-dna-new-version-4-5-a-2.html#post1598973 Hope that helps Al.
Primus Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Hi @Al_NetSupport no problem on the speed of the reply! So is it likely to release over the summer break?
Al_NetSupport Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Hi @Al_NetSupport no problem on the speed of the reply! So is it likely to release over the summer break? Yes, that is very much our intention @Primus, real double edged sword for every developer, more time you spend testing, better the quality of product, but always pressure to roll it out the door. On this occassion, i am err'ing on a few more weeks testing to make sure it does what it says on the tin properly. I am sorry its not available now, but i hope in the long run, customers will thank me for taking the cautious approach. Al.
Tefters Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Autumn or Winter sale incoming? *crosses fingers* 1
Matt_NetSupport Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 (edited) @Tefters we have nothing planned for the near future- we have many other solutions for education, current thinking is that we may look at these for our next offer. http://www.netsupportnotify.com http://www.netsupportservicedesk.com http://www.netsupportmanager.com Matt Jones NetSupport Ltd Edited September 14, 2017 by Matt_NetSupport (I can’t spell!)
Al_NetSupport Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Autumn or Winter sale incoming? *crosses fingers* Think Katie has now been in touch - always happy to try and help.
Tefters Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Aye looking now. 2 questions on DNA licensing. 1. How does Terminal server license count work? 2. Is the license per machine or per active connection through gateway? E.G. I got 100 odd laptops but 50 of them are rarely used (and I mean rarely!) so do I have to buy a license per machine of could I get 50 knowing that would be the max concurrent used at a time.

You need a NetSupport DNA license for each session on your terminal server, in your example assuming 100 sessions you would mean 100 licenses, this allows you to aggregate and view information and reports for all of the sessions not just the currently active ones. I would recommend with any questions about licensing/pricing that you speak to our sales team as we can be flexible with our licensing model to fit your situation. Matt
