Ranger Client Install

Stopped working.

 

I login as 'rangerinstall' & it does log in, but it doesn't run the client application.

 

Any idea on what might be causing this & what can I do to fix it???

 

Help much appreciated.

try running this \\yourserver\Ranger\secmon.exe install

 

from an admin logon

also may be an issue with virus software i know that sophos can pick up secmon as a virus

if you have hips enabled it can. Look at the logon script assoociated with the install username, should give you some clues.

Yeah tried that. Still don't work

Im thinking ill have to re-install lan ranger on the server. Only thing I can think off. Is that what you guys would do?

check your antivirus, the hips part of sophos will stop secmon running

Presumably rangerinstall is the account you use to distribute the client, similar to Sophos in that respect!?

 

I'd make sure the account isn't disabled due to x amount of incorrect logons.

Sorted guys. I re-wrote the ranger login script & it picked up fine.

I was going to suggest editing the logon script that account uses. After a lan ranger update i'd noticed the bat file was in a right mess.
