  1. I am having problems with thin client printing. When the users print to a networked hp2600 everything is fine unless we print direct from a website then the printer locks up and the document hangs and can only be deleted by restarting the print spooler (or restarting the server!!). Is this a common problem or are we just being awkward. I am not very confident with thin client and terminal services, I am more accustomed to Ranger, Classmaster and Rm Schoolshare networks. We are a Primary school and all our computers are HP5520 clients apart from a few old RM machines left over from a schoolshare/storebox network. We have no purchased support for our network and FourS who we can buy support from are not able to help with thin client. I would be interested in any schools not too far from Leatherhead in Surrey who are running thin client that have a trained technician who would be willing to show me how well things can run and maybe who could comment on the setup I have and what improvements could be made. (A skip??!!)
  2. Just to add my twopennyworth In Surrey all schools had a Cachepilot installed different models for primary and senior these are certainly less than 5 years old more like to 2 or 3 years in my schools. I work in 5 primary level schools 3 of whom use Espresso. Teachers have noticed that Espresso is not updating (since end of April mostly!) Now that it has been drawn to my attention I have made enquiries and have been told that the cachepilot is full and we need to replace it with a bigger and better one costing £1500. A little outside the budget of a 75 child Infant school - especially when no advance warning was given. Anyone else had same problem or have we just got stupid little hard drives in our cachepilot (Surrey Cheapskates version).
  3. also may be an issue with virus software i know that sophos can pick up secmon as a virus
  4. I don't seem to be able to raise First Technology Leasing by phone, fax, email or even website. These are the people we had all our laptops for teachers from - and I need a repair under the 3 year cover!!! Anyone got any info about them? Have they gone bust/been bought out?
