Where to buy SSL certificate for Active Directory Federation Services?

We want our users to visit a 3rd party website and be automatically authenticated via the fact they have already logged onto the computer to do this we apparently need to set up Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS)

 

So we need to get an SSL certificate to use with AD FS.

 

Who would you recommend we get one from?

 

What one do we need I'm seeing reference to Domain validation (DV), Organization validation (OV) and Extended validation (EV)?

DV is the lowest form of SSL and cheapest.

 

EV is the most expensive and is regarded as the ultimate cert, you even get the full green bar from google.

 

A wildcard cert is better to buy if you intend to use sub domains like for example wifi.domain.local for you wifi controller. Or your internal mail servers web access via https.

 

As to which is suitable for ADFS I would expect the DV one would suffice but I'm not 100% sure.

Our ADFS setup currently uses a DV certificate from JISC.

Cheap.

Probably not much use for the original poster, but I've used this free trial before when I've needed a certificate for short-term testing.
