Not getting Dell OpenManage server admin email alerts

I thought I had set up Dell OpenManage email alerts, but today when I logged on to the server I was greeted with a warning that the raid battery had failed and the raid array had changed its settings to compensate. I would have thought this should have generated an email alert.

 

I assume I have not set my alerts up correctly.

 

What I have done,

In the preferences section setup my email (google) and sent a test email, which does get received.

 

In Alert Management I have enabled Broadcast Message for most events, which I assumed would use the email.

 

Any idea what I have done wrong?

i thought you needed the openmanage essentials (OME) to actually send any email stuff out as the OMSA client cant manage it on its own / when i was looking at this you need to setup alerting for the specific sections as i dont think there is a "catch all"

+1 for OpenManage Essentials

If you have prosupport on your dell servers, logs are automatically sent over to dell and fixes provided.(was in malaysia last week and this happened where a drive failed, received an email saying where i would like said drive to be sent to)

they might have changed how they handled mail since i last looked at OMSA and OME
