Whats the best SATA drive for 24/7 running for reliability. I need the best possible uptime/reliability of a SATA Drive array without going down the SAS route.

 

Are the WD Red drives meant to be up to the same job as SAS drives, as i've had 2 before DOA....

 

Whats the best choice of SATA drive for RAID Arrays in devices such as Synology etc that will be on 24/7

IME, WD Red. Used them in NAS and server applications without too many problems (had a couple be awkward, but I suspect that was the old NAS being flaky). I've had very good experiences with WD desktop drives in 24/7 application too, but the Reds are worth paying a little extra for.
