GrumbleDook Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 It is that time of year again when I am starting to be asked by a few individuals, that want to set up their own web space, what is the best hosting company. Any recommendations for generic hosting, preferably with options for both IIS / Access / MSSQL and AMP (or LAMP) Optional extras will be web-based email, ability to run a store, CMS
webman Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I part-run a Red Hat LAMP colocation server based in the US. Can setup custom hosting plans if required. Includes PHP, CGI/Perl, MySQL, email address (with webmail), cPanel web management, and Fantastico script setups (for automated CMS, forum and blog setup etc). PM me if you need any more info
StewartKnight Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I'm with one and one, they always get a good write up, and I think they're quite cheap
russdev Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 as before plugsocket never had any issues with them... Russ
pete Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I use purple cloud ( http://www.purplecloud.net ) for my mail and webhosting. They're reliable and inexpensive, though more aimed at personal / small-scale sites than corporate.
daverage Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Send me a PM and I can discuss hosting needs with you. The host I can provide is IIS, with mysql, php, asp, .net and a few other bits, depending on the needs. Shamless plug I know!!
