GuyJD Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Has anyone replaced a Smart UF70 projector with another ultra short throw projector and if so what make and did/do you have any problems with it? I have 4 of these left in the school and they are causing me all sorts of issues but I don't have the budget to replace them with interactive displays to bring them in line with the rest of the school.
Oaktech Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 I use the Hitachi CP-AW3005 currently. They're replacing a selection of projectors from Smart, Epson and BenQ 1
Sylv3r Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 We've generally bought these from RocheAV - i can't see the UF70 model but they may sell them, we've swapped a lot of UF45's in our primaries https://rocheav.co.uk/visual/projectors/smart-promethean-swap-outs Just watch the cost isn't what you pay as they like to sting you with the delivery! 1
Zipsterr Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Speak to the guys at All Office ltd - We swapped a few UF55 for some with the CP range with mounts and found them to be well priced at the time. 1
GuyJD Posted May 17, 2017 Author Posted May 17, 2017 I'm looking in to getting this faulty one repaired but if not I've found a refurb with warranty but that's still £550
evasion Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 If Hitachi is used, how does it work with pen tray - is RS232 connection working so that projector can be turned on/off via pen tray button? Tried connecting BENQ short throw projector today using RS232 cable to link the pen tray but the button remained red, it only works if RS232 cable is plugged into UF70 projector. I have used 5V DC adapter to power the pen tray but it only works when RS232 is plugged into UF70, which somehow controls the pen tray - replacement projector such as BENQ with RS232 is not talking to the pen tray - can't be used then.
