This should put the cat amoung the pigeons, IMO i think it is absurd, totally ridiculus, completly blown out of the water, typical English way of doing things.

Your first link is DEAD due to ... in the middle.

If it's what I think it's about, then I'm off snapping away. Just try stopping the tourists taking photos in London, I think it might just dent tourism just a wee little bit.

You're right though, you can legally take a photo ANYWHERE in the UK provided the people in it aren't shot with an expectation of privacy (that is to say, taking a photo of a random person on the street is legal, but barging into their bathroom while they have a shower isn't), that it's not of a railway property (old law that never got removed) and some very specific landmarks in London.

Although it would be quite sad if the Government try to blanket all photography under Anti-Terrorism, that'll be going the way of China when it comes to media control.

Thousands of people take photos every day. What if one of them seems odd?

So, am I the only one who thinks Chris Morris has infiltrated the Met and is bringing them down from within? :)

I was out taking photos at a local business park on Sunday, and was approached by a security guy who questioned what I was doing. Once he was satisfied I posed no threat he said "I'd better cancel the police then". :p

I think its fair to be asked what your doing by police/security as its their job. But I think as with everything in life its about common sense! If your taking pictures of a power plant/army base etc without prior consent or communication then you should expect to be questioned but if your taking a picture of a bus or statue then whats the problem?

Fearmongering at its worst

Well, they did manage to convince a politician to try and legally ban CAKE (a made up drug) :D :D :D
