GuyJD Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Has anyone used Hypertec SSDs, Are they reliable? I'm looking at doing a rolling replacement of all the spinning disks in the school and asked my supplier for quotes on either Intel or Samsung drives and he's asked if I would consider Hypertec, I use Hypertec memory in my gaming PC at home but I've never tried their drives and can't seem to find any reviews from reliable sources.
3s-gtech Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Hypertec are a reseller - they don't make the devices themselves (same with the RAM). Considering the need for warranty and technical support, I wouldn't personally buy their SSDs but I have bought odd bits and pieces before without too much hassle (RAM mainly).
zag Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Never heard of and wouldn't touch with a bardgepole. Suppliers always try to convince you to save £5 per SSD or something for much less reliability. Samsung and Intel are great. I'd insist on those 2 even if they are a little more expensive.
GuyJD Posted March 24, 2017 Author Posted March 24, 2017 I've asked me for a quote on each, I'll see what the price difference is before deciding.
HTCPCP Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 I'm always cautious about companies like HyperTek, simply because their devices are built to a price. RAM wise, I tend to buy Crucial, Corsair or Kingston for work, depending on price, and Toshiba only for SSDs
