Mic_Impero Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Cheers Rick, will do. mavhc Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Where is AgileDotNetRT.dll coming from? Only results on google are about malware. Who's it signed by?

Stutwo Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 We're running 6.0.45 and for what it's worth, it's the best version we've seen in a long time. Log viewing is still taking too long on occasion but everything else seems absolutely fine.
DrCheese Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 I have had it with Impero, without fail every single time they release an update they break something else! I am such a mug, when I log an issue they say "oh we have a new version that fixes that" I then proceed to tell them what I think of the updates they release, they assure me it is stable, I get the update and guess what? it breaks something else. Its like they use us to test the updates they release, well no more I will be looking to replace this pain in the ass. Pretty much, we moved away from them for this reason. I gave them a bit of leeway after their well publicized security issues the other year but there's limits!
Fazza Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 So far, so good! It might have taken 2 days and multiple installation/unstallation on the server to get Impero to actually install properly and work, but today (after upgrading all the student machines over the half-term), touch-wood we've had no reported issues! Now, if we could only get rid of that silly Join Pin Group button on all the desktops then all would be rosey!
ITGuyNW Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 We had to go through every group and made sure it was unticked in the options. Some groups take priority over others.
Fazza Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 We had to go through every group and made sure it was unticked in the options. Some groups take priority over others. Both ourselves and Impero Support have been through ALL the groups to ensure it's turned off and it's still being displayed! There should be a feature disable section on the server software to completely remove this silly blumming thing.

Log viewing is still taking too long on occasion but everything else seems absolutely fine. We were told by Impero not to use it on our SAN (as they recommend that was slowing it down for us) and were recommended to run it on a local server with its own hard drives. The log viewer seems to be a bit nippier than it was before. Even though our SAN is currently being underutilised and there is nothing wrong with it. Edited May 11, 2017 by MrKJLS

The longer you have been using Impero, the more logs you will have. The more logs you have the slower the log viewer is as it loads them all up when you view them!! What we only found out the other day (from Impero) is that you can actually tell Impero which log files to load - in other words, you can keep older logs but basically unattach them from the log viewer so it only loads the most recent log files that you are actually interested in. If only we had known this years ago!

We are a big site with around 780 PCs and around 1400 kids.
