Pen not calibrated - ONLY in PowerPoint?

Hi,

 

We have recently rolled out Windows 10 to Classroom PC's after the Admin office trial period going well.

All screens have been calibrated and throughout all programs (Word, Lynx, Paint, Photoshop etc), the touch works fine however in PowerPoint if you are on a slideshow and wish to use the pen tool it draws in the wrong area.

 

 

Has anyone else faced this issue & know a fix for this? All Windows Updates have been completed.

 

 

This issue is apparent on both builds that have been PXE Booted and via the In-Place upgrade deployment with SCCM 2012.

Have you upgraded Office at the same time?

 

I had a problem like that with a version of Powerpoint where it thought it had 2 screens - hence the pointers were out

It's Powerpoint 2016 - in presenter mode - worked fine under Windows 7

Yeah you need to change the display back to duplicated screen. Should work fine after you do that.

Hi Joanne - makes no odds - duplicated, extended , projector only - it is always out of alignment

Are these clevertouch boards? If they are I can see how mine react?

Yes , Clevertouch C Series LED - they were fine with Office 2016 and Windows 7 , since upgrade to Windows 10 and Office 2016 the issue has existed.

Works fine on mine. Do you have that TouchWin driver installed that CleverTouch support always bang on about? Is it doing it on all laptops?

does the cursor move as if it is calibrated OK but on a different monitor setup - or just move all over the place

 

Powerpoint sometimes takes no notice of how Windows is set up and assumes it's own config that it has decided itself.

If that is the case try setting the Powerpoint config differently and see if that makes a difference

I've put it on my dropbox, give it a try. You can use it to calibrate, so perhaps calibrate while powerpoint is open....

Looking at this blined and it is only a stab in the dark, but in MS PowerPoint, under the "Slide Show" tab, is the resolution set to "Use Current Resolution". We had a similer issue with some Active Boards.

managed to fix it - involves re-imaging the PC and not installing Lynx 5!

I've never used Lynx - what is it (just for info for when we move to panels)??

Hello,

 

did anyone find a solution to this having the same issue

 

Running Win10x64 1903, and a 65" BenQ touchscreen. like above every other application is calibrated correctly except power point. i also have presenter mode disabled.

 

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try this:

go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16 (can stay logged on as teacher I think)

right click powerpnt.exe – troubleshoot compatibility – troubleshoot program – the program opens but does not display correctly – program does not display correctly when large scale fonts are selected

You have to click test the program and open a blank powerpoint – close powerpoint – click yes save these settings – shows generating report for quite a while but will save eventually and then it will work.

So - looks like it is some internal display setting in PP that have gone bad??

 

anyone any ideas of what those setting are??
