Decent Laptop Trolleys

Hi can any one recommend any decent laptop trolleys for schools?

 

At the moment we are using some thing like this

But i find them to be poor quality and don't last very long in a school environment. They don't seem to be very strong and they get damaged easily. The wheels start to fall off and / or go like a gone wrong Tescos trolley.

 

The idea is good and the charging system side of things is good but they are not very robust in a schools area.

 

any one got any good suggestions that you have been using?

I can get you trollies from all the main suppliers.

 

Lapcabby tend to be mid-range, but the doors can take a beating especially if the kids start swinging off of them.

For the really good stuff you gotta pay a lot more..

 

Loxit are my favourite trolley manufacturer. They make ugly, great, secure (indestructible) steel contraptions

 

And as various members of the EdugGeek@BETT team will attest, they're a bunch of lovely people, never shy of buying a round

Lapsafe, sturdy and reliable and fairly easy to swap the different adapter cables.

haha, i've always recommended lapcabby - I've always recond they lasted well and had some nice design features tailored for schools! That said however, last time i went to Bett (2015) there were huge numbers of comapnies there that were selling better things than Lapcabby!

 

I know thats not helpful but I found the comments amusing!

If you want solid and robust, then Loxit are really good, but they really are ugly.

 

We now buy zioxi trolleys - we have 7 ipad trolleys and 3 laptop trolleys from them at the moment, about to get another couple of laptop trolleys very soon. So far we haven't had anything break on them, and they look nice, our oldest trolley is a bit over 2 years old, in a Primary School.

I opted for a few of the Carrier 40 units from Lock n Charge in my previous school https://www.lockncharge.com/eu/products/carrier-40-cart/

 

Takes a little while to cable manage the chargers, but once in is incredibly neat.

 

They may look flimsy from the stock images on their website, but far from it.

Given the stature of the units, they're far easier to shift around a school than a lot of the taller options on the market, as the centre of gravity is low on these, and the wheels were very sturdy.

 

I was given a test unit for a couple of weeks, which I'm sure they'd allow you to do to if you were so inclined.

We also sell the Xioxi trolleys, but I'd class them as considerably less robust than the Lapcabbies. They're certainly entry level bits of kit.

We use Zioxi too, they are small and compact. Standing up well in comparison to some Monarch Lapcabby stuff we got which are really big and heavy plus doors are bend and locks get jammed.

I always recommend Lapsafe to my schools - Metal construction with decent cable management that uses a different key. I wouldn't bother with the Inline charging solution, as it ties your hands to specific laptops without paying more down the line. Only issue with most of them is they all have a rather limited range of colours really (I do like different colour trollies for different areas e.g. Yellow for foundation, red for lower KS1 etc etc, but that is understandable really.

 

Zioxi - I have recently (against my advice) had one of their trolleys delivered and it's basically chipboard glued together, so can imagine first time it gets pushed into a door, that it's not going to end well.

 

Lapcaddy - Don't really rate them, find the wheels a bit iffy to say the least, and also the fact that a kid can open the back of some of them without a key is rather worrying. Might just be me, but the last one that arrived didn't come with a key, and without any information, they just sent out another key to us...

 

Loxit - If you have the money, get one! Never had a problem (well except staff not returning keys), and still as easy to move as the first day it arrived!

Lapsafe here, very sturdy and as a company their customer service has always been outstanding.
