6Foot2 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Teachers have had all year to think about how they want to do this and now, with about three weeks to go, they are starting to run around like headless chickens. We have been told that we have to help staff get ready for this, just like when we were told that we had to help with the audio only recordings in previous years (with little notice) How are you recording these assessments? I am guessing with a conventional video/web camera set up, but I am interested to hear if anyone is taking a different tack here? We had used FlipCams for recoding other student performances, but these are getting a little long in the tooth now. Thoughts? Thanks.
Sylv3r Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 We had someone mention this last week also. It's likely that we will use our Go Pro's - although not 100% how they will be managed i.e. who is going to start and stop the footage and the editing side. 1
MkII Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 We've processed a few batches since last year. Guidance from our LA was for teachers to use iPads, a video shrinking app and j2e (HWB+ (Learning Possibilities to you saesnegs ) to upload the files for moderation. No teachers managed to do the video compression or uploading to j2e, I did it all. We're in the middle of submitting our GSCE assessments and standing by to upload samples. We've rotated 4 iPads which I transfer videos off onto a Mac Mini, and Handbrake as needed. The video from the iPads isn't great, and the audio is pathetic with the subject always being too far from the camera. We're wondering how we can do this better too.
