Getting an error message when trying to run the SIMS Launcher Module. It's complaining about the system not having an ID. I remember having this before and Capita directed me to the Enviroment Variables bit under System Properties > Advanced.

Anyone come across this issue?

..actually trying to edit staff codes in Personnel, but need to negiotiate this hurdle first...

Thanks

How to change / add a lanid

SYMPTOMS

Platform setup requires a Lanid variable to be set

Advice

Windows 2000/XP machines:

1. Right click My Computer icon

2. Select Properties

3. Select Advanced Tab

4. Click Environment Variables button

5. If no variable called lanid click NEW button in system variable.

Add variable name: lanid

Add variable value: nn (where nn is workstation number)

i.e.

lanid

01

6. If lanid variable present click edit button in system variable.

Alter lanid in variable name.

7. Click OK and click apply

8. The workstation will require a reboot for changes to take effect.

Yep, thanks for your help.

Completely missed the fact that Personnel is now integrated into sims.net so doesn't need to be loaded from Launcher..
