kennysarmy Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Do you mount for the current room holder, be they 4'11 or 6'6 - or does everything get mounted at a standard top height for top of board?
AJWhite1970 Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Standard height here, top of the board is 78" from the floor. I used to have one teacher who was 4'10" who couldn't reach the top but she was based in the same room so I got the site team to build some raised flooring for her instead. Any lower and kids at the back struggle to see lower parts of the screen.
Sagima Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 In order they are set so that a year 7 child at the back of the room can see them clearly (that's the theory anyway) but as low as possible for the use of the main staff member. Sometimes we have to put a step in front of the board for them. Most of the time it seems to mean the top is about 7 foot from the ground

I think 7 foot looks a good height, but to me that would ~ 2100mm I'm designing a new music room!
Boredguy Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 The bottom of our older 78" boards are normally installed around 900mm from the floor, but we also invested in a lot of height adjustable board (mainly for the short throw projectors) but even they only get lowered for us to clean the filters.
synaesthesia Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 I try to stay reasonable sober when hanging anything heavy, personally. Sorry! Couldn't resist. 1
