Disable spellcheck for a single user

We've got exams coming up and used to be able to do this fine using a small CMD prompt led program. But since we installed office 2016 this no longer has the desired effect. Does anyone do this and if so what is your solution? Help as always much appreciated

We have a set of Exam laptops for kids with special measures. They don't have MS Office on them. They get Wordpad. Replicates most of the functionality but doesn't have a spellchecker.

Before we had dedicated laptops, we applied these to a GPO for that specific user:

Not sure if the same info works for 2016, though.

 

On our laptops for exams, we've installed only word and not installed any of the proofing tools (removed them in the installation setup).
