sLiDeR Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 ok, looking for an alternative to Ranger & have found one http://www.imperosoftware.com/impero.asp Anyone tried this & if so any issues to be aware off?
dezt Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Have you taken a look at LanView 3, we use it here and it's good.
Dos_Box Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Well I did give them an hour of my time at BETT to suggest new features for it. It seemd like a good package to me, especially if they've added my suggestions in by now
JamesC Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I highly recommend 'AB Tutor Control'. It can be found here: http://www.abconsulting.com
FN-GM Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I like Ranger does the job for us. I don't think LanView is ideal for teachers though. More of a Techies tool
ajames Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I have recentely switched from ranger to impero, it is fantastic software, originally it look really expensive compared to the free programs you can get, but the free ones just don't give the same features or control that impero does, i have a contact who done me a really good deal on the software, if you want send me your details i will arrange for him to give you a call, talk you though the options, [email protected]
krisd32 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 +1 for abtutor also. just started using here and the teachers love it.
Wils86 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 We use Lanschool for the teacher machines and for us we use DameWare mini remote control. Tweak the settings just right, perfect stealth mode. Never used ranger though, might have to check it out.

(Most packages we find gives them far too much control over the workstations - they don't really need or want that level of control as they'd never use it here... they'd prefer we did it all) Az
Dom_ Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 +1 for abtutor, just upgraded to v6 and am amazed at the amount of stuff they've included! Their support is good too.
