However I do know I have English, Scottish, American and Scandinavian blood in me.

 

Would love to know more about my family from further back.

I have been interested in doing a DNA test in the past, but heard (not verified myself) there were some strange T&Cs around what some companies can do with the DNA sequence, including patenting... so worth reading the T&Cs.

My mum is big into family history and has traced our family back 100's of years to Irish roots, I love the idea of being able to find out about your past by looking at your DNA

 

With regards to the video there was a lot of controversy when it was released, scientists have stated that it's impossible to trace your DNA to a specific country, so all of the results that show a person has roots in a country they don't like are put there for dramatic effect and the so called DNA expert in the video graduated university with a degree in psychology or something like that and has no expertise in genetics other than being part of the ancestry.com website. The video was also found to have used paid actors too.
