Need a new gaming monitor

Hi, I am looking to get a new monitor.

 

27 or 28 inch

144hz

1440 resolution

gsync

£400

 

I play a lot of first person shooters.

 

Reading other forums the most popular monitors seem to be from ASUS, Acer or Dell so I would like to stick with these company.

 

I have about £400 but might be able to borrow a bit more for the ideal monitor.

 

Ideally it would be great if someone has used a few different monitors and can post back their recommendations.

I have the Dell S2716DG, it cost me £463 in August, it's a nice monitor - might be worth waiting to see if there are any black Friday deals on them ?

That could be a tall order! The AOC AG271QX reviews well - it has everything bar G-Sync which can be added for £200(!)

Agreed, Ultrawide screen is AMAZING!!!

I've always preferred it for viewing angles, plus response times are great on IPS these days, LG one is 5ms

I use ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q 27 inch Widescreen LED Gaming Monitor (2560 x 1440, USB 3.0, NVIDIA 3D, 144 Hz, 1 ms) - Black and couldn't be happier with it. It'll do 4K, too, just not at 144Hz

They're not all that different to be honest. The Acer one is 165Hz whereas the Dell one is 144hz.

It's worth bearing in mind that if you're dedicated to using G-SYNC, you might as well take the monitor's refresh rate as your maximum FPS, as a 144Hz monitor is capable of refreshing 144 times per second. But pushing 144FPS on one card will require at least a 980Ti or settings lowered to medium-or-less. (Don't bother with SLI, most games still don't bother programming for it.)
