Clicked on it... was disappointing. Not the Spirits i was after :p

Was a lightning (Not lighting) deal got them for £15, i have 1 bulb a lot brighter than the other at the mo so might as well change them both!

unless you dont intend to put many games on it or dont mind having an external drive id go for a 1tb one at least. i easily filled the 500 then the 1tb and mine now has a 750gb ssd plugged in as well as the 1tb internal drive

Thanks. At least it's possible to use cheap large capacity drives with the One (as opposed to the 360 that was limited to 64GB of external space until April 2015!). Only got a few games that I want to play initially: Rocket League, GTA V and Infinite Warfare (+ COD4 Remastered) so guess my homework tonight is to see if those and their patches will take up 500GB or less

iirc gta5 is 60+gb and you dont get 500gb you get nearer 300 due to os etc cod is iirc 80+

Tesco have still got the Chromecast for only £18, which is as cheap as it's ever been. Picked up another for home and another for work :)

 

Was thinking about getting one of those Compute Sticks to stick in the telly, because its built in iPlayer is getting ever more broken and it can't support a lot of, er, alternatively sourced videos anymore, but a bit of experimentation with apps has shown that BubbleUPnP can transcode on the fly and get DTS and x265 content working on the Chromecast without issue :) (limited to 20 minutes in the free version, but worth the £3 for me). So now, rather than copy files to a memory stick and then get annoyed when it can't play the audio, I copy them to my phone instead and stream it to the Chromecast. I've not yet experimented, but there's a server component as well which should allow me to stream straight from my PC via my phone to my Chromecast, transcoding as it goes. Lovely job :D

This has been in my basket "saved for later" for a while now. The current price is the price it's been for a while even though it went up before the weekend. Not much of a bargain as it first looks, but still a good buy!

I use my Raspberry Pi for this, using Openelec it scans my media NAS for files, gets the metadata, and displays it with covers etc. I can even view the titles on my phone and hit play on there :)

I'm not sure those picks will last, but I think you'd be better off with the pickology XH600 and a separate practice lock. I was treated to the Southord PXS-14 in the end :D

This is exactly what I do. Using BubbleUPnP, I can stream video directly from my NAS straight to the TV via Chromecast. It's a great app and works really well for me. I think I am using the Plex media server on the NAS, but have used Serviio with success too.

Not a bad deal. Especially as I wanted the telephoto lense for some background blurring action, which would usually cost about 80 quid separately.

 

£20 canon cashback too.

Have you got this yet? I'm tempted but reviews for both the DSLR and lens are mixed (I know it's for starters but still).

Apparently Asda have the Nikon D5100 with an 18-55mm lens for ~£100 but no sign in my local store!

Yeh picked it up last night, its nice but pretty basic. Need to play around with it some more.

 

Really like the size and weight of it.

Was totally meant to post this is the Christmas thread... oopsies!

Don't think I want to go anywhere near another microcontroller after the stress I went through getting my RGB strip mood-lighting Arduino project to work :p (speaking of which, I should make a thread for that)
