Linx 1010

Hi,

We are thinking about getting a set of the Linx 1010 tablets but they come with win10 home. Will these tablets work with win 10 education and where are the drivers on the Linx site as I've been unable to find them?

Almost forgot... where are the drivers as there no drivers on the Linx site just the manuals.

We have 20 Linx 1010B 32GB with Windows 8.1 Pro and to be honest we have nothing but grief with them, the camera is very problematic, sometimes the camera app will open and just bring up a black screen, other times the app just closes itself down as soon as it opens, the only way to resolve it is to shut down or restart the tablet.

 

Also sometimes when you switch them on the wireless connection has a red cross on it (we have full wireless coverage), I then have to log on with my admin account, go into network connections then disable and enable the wireless connection for it to kick back into life. I've tried various ways but still cannot resolve this issue or even find a solution online.

 

I upgraded 2 of them to Windows 10 Pro hoping that would sort out the problems but both still had the camera and wireless connection issues. One other thing when the camera is working okay and they want to use to capture movie clips the sound on them is really bad unless the subject is less then 5 yards away from you. We had a Maths Week at the end of the last academic year and after recording some of a class they resorted to using an IPad as the clips were just not suitable to be used in a presentation to parents.

 

I've no idea if the later models are any better but I wouldn't recommend the 1010B model at all, of course it's just my opinion but it has given me plenty of grief in the 14 months that we have had them.

Any ideas if new versions of the Linx being released will run Windows 10 64bit versions.

 

Unfortunately the 1010B and 1010E did not; probably due to the 2GB RAM restrictions.

 

Looking for a small cheap Linx type tablet, but would be better if they can run Windows 10 64bit OS.

 

Also any ideas on the release dates and availability for stock?

Surely if they have 4GB memory they must be 64bit,

we brought a 1010e and that had pro /education version of windows 10 on it

also i think you can change the version using Windows imaging design tool if you for example have a few of them already and need to join a domain.

We've supplied a good few of these tablets to different school and have had lots of issues. Similar to GC75 - problems with the cameras, problems with apps crashing etc. Just on the off-chance it's for target tracker that you want them, there's now an IOS app for it.
