We have at least two Smartboards where during video playback annoyingly play the sound / hardware plugged in ding / ding. Any suggestions on resolving this please?

One board is circa 2 / 3 year old and another is top side of 8 years old both running licensed Smartboard software.

Is it the SmartBoards causing it and have the PCs been replaced at all recently?

We've had similar and it's been due to the cable going to the board being over 5M. Issue was fixed by going Cat5 or getting a powered USB hub, depending on the length of cable.

Not the ideal answer I know, but I had this on an old Win7 PC I had at home for media playback on a non-smart TV.

It would ding / unding all the time, couldn't find out why. I just found the Hardware added / removed notifications in Sounds, and turned them off.

Thanks for the answers both; thanks duly given. From @NB9457 I hope this isn't too naive a question but when you say you went CAT5 how does that work out please - is there a numpty guide please!

We get Cat5 to USB adapters, allow runs of up to 60M. Search for them on Google :)
