I suffocated in a wall somehow. There is my grave ontop of the portal that I cant get to as the area has protection belonging to 2016ms. I'm also unable to block the netherrack too.

I'm sure I said this in game, but for some reason I was able to break your graves. I put most of your stuff in chests. I may have mixed up some of Mikes and Geoffs stuff so look in either place.

Blimey, I go and celebrate my housemate's birthday and all hell breaks loose.

I will come on this evening and sort it out.

Grave's will be breakable by anyone I believe. Else you could litter people's homes with them... :p

Assuming you're 2016ms

AFAIK you can break any grave. They couldn't break their graves because they were on your claimed land, which protects all blocks there from anyone but you (and presumably an admin in creative mode).

No, he's dlehman83.

Besides, the issue was that the graves were on top of a Nether portal and no one could place blocks to go up and retrieve them.

As this is a community build, I may remove the "claiming" mechanic from the configs. If people want to protect stuff, they can use locked ender chests etc...

I don't know, I think the claiming mechanic could be useful for personal houses, but what's the smallest area you can claim?

Usually these mechanics operate on a chunk basis.

I found most of my stuff in my chests thanks. I've replaced the rest anyway. Losing XP on Tinkers Construct tools is a bit painful though. Fortunately I hadn't really put any modifiers on the tools yet so it's not like I lost stacks of redstone or lapis upgrades.

I must admit I rage quit last night. After having bad day at work and then being faced with 2016mc's prank. Did look round for my grave but never thought to look up. I'll probably be on during the weekend and will check for chests.

Let's keep pranks death-free now, shall we? :p

Finding sheep hidden under my house? Reasonable. Sudden suffocation? Not so much.

What I may do then, is claim all the major chunks where we're communal building, and allow you all to build there, and allow a couple of chunks each. I'll tweak later.

If this was a prank by 2016mc, I'll be banning him - we don't do this sort of thing on our servers (pranks where we hide cicada are ok, but not where people lose stuff).

Aha, new account, no posts, looks like the account was made just to join the server. Block and ban from the server and the forum I'd say!

We know what to do.

Tbh it might be an honest mistake if:

a) they are not aware of nether portal 'pyhsics'. Specifically how portals jump and connect to the destination world portal if they are within 128 blocks in netherspace (or 1024 blocks overworld).

b) they are not aware that blocking a portal by walling it up stops more than pigmen.

However I think a bit more 'vetting' of potential edugeekers before they are added to the whitelist might be a good idea. Minimum post amount or account age are obvious things that spring to mind.

Might be worth going back to manual whitelisting for a while if this becomes a regular thing, but I reckon for now we're OK. One bad apple isn't too much of a big issue.
