Setting up a system to register late comers

Hi

 

Our Staff want setup a PC for to register the students coming late into the school. So i have installed a PC with SIMS.

All students have a fob in our school and their fob numbers are registered in SIMS under user defined fields.

Is there a way to set that when students swipe their fobs on the card reader connected to this SIMS PC , the registration is done on SIMS\

Do i need to buy any software subscription?

 

Any suggestions and help would be great.

Check out something like BioStore who do card registration. You might as well then use it for all registration

We just had a new system installed over the Summer called Inventry (yes spelt inventry). A screen is put in at reception which students can use to swipe their cards if their late. It also handles new visitors, recurring visitors, takes photos, prints ID labels. Very handy for knowing who is DBS checked and who is not.

Inventry works by connecting to your MIS. The receptionist will need to use the Inventry software to push the information to the MIS every so often.

 

It also has a really good fire evacuation procedure where the receptionist can click a button and get a list of all students currently signed in. Also, they have a fire evac app for iPad so you can take the fire registers on your iPad.

We are also using Inventry here at our school, does anyone know if the fire evac app has the capability to show all students on the register? At the moment it only shows us the absences and late com/ers which means when the school does an evac they would need a paper register as well. All the school want is the fire evac app to show the full register of students which I would think is possible since it already pulls down the information from RM Integris for absences.

 

I have contacted their support and they asked for my number to contact me back when a tech is free. Still no response from them so I thought I would try here while I'm waiting.

We have Inventry for visitors but were told that the Learner Registration part won't work using their "small" readers, only on the larger totem. Can any of you guys confirm that? Seems a bit weird, but because our students come in via multiple entrances were not using the Registration portion as it's too expensive to have a full totem in each entrance.

On our Inventry app we have a a Full MIS register under Student Rolls. This gives us a list of all students that have been registered at some point in the current day. The only issue with this is it doesn't work out if a student has signed out.

After their support phoned me back they told me this feature only works in SIMS and not in RM Integris, it is a requested feature though. I guess we will just have to deal with printing a paper register for students as well as the evac app for staff and onsite guests. Hopefully we get a full register under Student Rolls in the future on the evac app using RM Integris.
