Yes I pre-set the majority of websites to use IE or Chrome (depending on requirements), but because Edge is getting a tiny bit better, plus it's the default PDF associated application. It's OK for 99% of PDFs in my experience.

Just tried it and it does seem better than when I last looked. Now the dilemma: will it just confuse the staff if they can't find Adobe Reader?

It shouldn't, as generally they click the file itself, which is then associated with Edge. Some will notice, but as I say, it's one less 'core' application to worry about updating thinking long term.

Maybe but this isn't official channels, this is something that Mozilla should be doing anyway. You also have to consider support if something wasn't working as expected. It's something I don't quite understand why they haven't implemented if Mozilla wanted their product used more in Enterprise.

I've been using it for quite some time but I only deploy it to a few PCs, unfortunately they can be very slow at releasing updates i.e. their community edition is on 48.0.2 but I think Firefox is on 49.0.1 now, so I wouldn't deploy it site wide only as a backup browser. We use Chrome and IE11 which seem fine, it's always seemed odd that firefox haven't created their own msi's and GPO templates.

We haven't upgraded to 10 yet, we were looking at it over the summer but there was just too much work involved given the time frame. I don't have any additional support since my tech got a new job, we can't afford to replace him... It didn't help that both of our dell servers had hard drives fail in them during the holiday so I was waiting around for them to ship the replacements and rebuild the arrays.

- We've already got problems with the HR portal, not sure if that works without acrobat reader...

There will be exceptions but HR Portal is a mish mash of code and probably will require Acrobat Reader. Generally only a handful of users will use it per school.

Requested as well, from the same account I always use... no responce yet.

I'm doing this early, usually request in November but had to add Air into the mix now for distribution request.
