I'm a student so obviously I don't have access to SIMS on the school network but I would like access as it would be helpful when I'm looking for free rooms to go and study in. Sometimes (not all the time) there is a folder on the windows 7 start menu and it says SIMS Applications I open it and then click on sims . Net but then it comes up with an error message that says SIMS fault. How do I gain access?

Your school has a duty to keep other peoples information confidential therefore they have put restrictions in place to ensure you can't access sims.

Attempting to circumvent this may leave you in breach of the computer misuse act as well as your schools policies.

If you are allowed in free rooms then speak to your admin team who I am sure will assist you.

I make sure that students can't even log on to machines with SIMS installed, but of course there's always the risk of PCs left unlocked, passwords being discovered etc. Most of our students don't even care what's in SIMS, but if I was the NM at this student's school I'd be watching very carefully.

Same here.. I have software restriction policies in place to prevent it with other software like impero and they can't even access that as we limit it at server level too. @IT24. If your school does use impero you should ask the tech support team about the free rooms/computer feature. At least that way you won't need sims..correction ...should not be using sims

Free rooms > internal truancy? If he's got access to the system and found the documentation he could even make some free rooms via the cover module :-)
