The most annoying thing for me is that US buyers get a free Daydream VR headset (worth £69) when they pre-order a Pixel phone, but UK buyers get zilch! :mad: 2
flyinghaggis Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 (edited) I was hoping we'd hear more about 'Andromeda' and future direction of Android/Chrome to be honest. The Google Pixel on the face of it appears to be just another high end phone which doesn't offer anything new. Slightly disappointed given the price tag really. zebulunn Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I'm not impressed with the design. Gosh, those top/bottom bezels are kinda huge. I can't see this doing well in the UK with that pricing but G are more than welcome to surprise me.

My upgrade is due same time it comes out so just going to upgrade. But ringing EE and carphone warehouse today to see what they can do. ☺

arwen Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 (edited) I've ordered one. Bit more expensive than I was hoping for, but unlimited photo and video storage helps with the deal. I've been using "pure" android since the Nexus 4 and don't want to go back to Samsung/HTC/Sony tinkering with the OS. So this phone is ideal for me. Looking forward to trying out the camera. See if it truly is all it is cracked up to be. Rather annoyed that USA gets a free Daydream VR with their preorders. It does look pretty cool, but I'm not sure I would buy one new. To everyone saying "Well at that price you may as well buy an iphone" If it was all about price, why have people been buying iphones up until now? iPhones have always been overpriced for what they are - 2-3 year old technology wrapped in a pretty case. Android is a very nice OS, why are people so surprised that people want high end hardware and are willing to pay the price for it? Edited October 5, 2016 by arwen
