Windows 10 1607

Hi,

Ok so I have pushed the Windows 10 Anniversary Update out Vie WSUS and its gone on to 80 Desktops ok but on my desktop i run RSAT (Remote Server Admin Tools) it has removed this, it says I just have to re-download the RSAT from the Microsoft website, and install but it runs through the installer in 5 seconds then noting, they don't appear.

Also tried at home and the same.

Anyone else had this issue??

You need to install the US language pack then it will install

Try making it the default (temporarily), then switch back to UK English afterwards.

I have the same problem, But for some reason i can turn the Windows display language to US, Input and format are set to US but not the Display...

if you have windows set to get updates from wsus i found i couldnt get the usa language pack properly installed i either had to (and i cant remember which) download it and manually install or stop that pc getting updates from wsus then installing the language pack then rsat installed properly

Tried downloading it manually and it comes up saying -This Langauge pack doesnt work on your PC- (something along those lines.

And when i go to where it should say 'Download Langauge pack here' it just says this computer needs to be connected to the internet... IT IS CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try setting this GPO and try again:

 

Computer Config > Admin Templates > System > Specify settings for optional component installation and component repair

 

Make sure this is enabled and "Download repair content and optional features directly from Windows Update instead of Windows Server Update Services." is ticked.

Still no luck, when i try it on our network comes up saying there isnt a language pack and when i stick it on the outside line says it needs to be connected to internet.

 

Tried doing the update from servers again to no avail.

Yepp, but i am bypassing it when i check updates and with that Group Policy Update

Try installing it using dism. That's the only way I could get it to work. The command you need is below. Run it in a command prompt (as administrator).

 

Dism /online /Add-Package /PackagePath:"\\path\to\lp.cab"

just tried, came up with 'The specified package is not applicable to this image'

i think we installed an older version of rsat tools for 1511 that worked when we had the same problem, i can share via dropbox or fileshare if you want to try it.

I've tried both the Windows 7 RSAT and Windows 10

I went and got the US ISO from the volume licensing site and installed it in a VM where RSAT went and installed fine, I had similar issues getting a language pack installed (although I suspect it was due to our filtering more than anything, I just cba to dive into it).

 

More of a workaround than a fix I suppose.

Seems more of a faff, i'm building a laptop will all the diagnostic tools etc, all installed fine apart form RSAT >

can some one post the update KB number so i can pull the original 1607 update from the windows cat, as all i can find / attempted to apply are updates for 1607 not 1607 itself
