sniffingmoose Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I've just set up a new user account for a new teacher, however she is unable to log in on her workstation only -- the account logs on and immediately logs back off. The users desktop does not get a chance to appear. However, the account works on any other PC so I suspect there is a problem with the local workstation. Additionally, any other staff account appears to be capable of logging into that PC just fine. We are using roaming profiles, Windows 7 workstations and Server 2012. Never had this strange one before. Anyone else had this problem?
Meldrew Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Run out of disc space on the PC by any chance?
ITJS2015 Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Could be a registry problem where you will have to delete the login credentials, it is very tricky but can be done. Check the other account permissions which then you can compare to the one which isn't working
Davit2005 Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Event viewer, profile service maybe.... If the users folder is deleted off the C drive but the userprofile is still there that can cause issues.
sniffingmoose Posted September 8, 2016 Author Posted September 8, 2016 I solved the problem by leaving the Domain and then rejoined the domain. On reboot after rejoining the domain computer said please wait for 15 minutes before the login screen appeared. The user can now logon OK. What happened between the server and the workstation under the hood to cause this I don't know.
