Simple one I hope...

 

What would people consider the modern equivalent to the venerable Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0? Sculpted to the right hand, not an overly high arch, five buttons, bigger than the OEM crud that comes with PCs, corded?

 

Just looking a work mouse, doesn't need to have ultra high DPI sensors, stupid paint jobs etc. It needs to blend into the work environment.

I'd say something like the Logitech M500. The closes MS one would be the Sculpt Comfort Mouse. If you're feeling flush, the Razer Deathadder Chroma is somewhat shaped too.

Just looked at the price of the MS mouse. My 1.0A is still going strong!

 

What I like about the Intellimouse and MS's trackball equivalent (I use one @ home) is that the back/forward buttons are one opposite sides of the device, which seems more logical and makes it symmetrical. Judging by the pricing on these now MS are missing a trick by not churning out more!

I use a Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical, had the same one on all my PCs both work and home since 2005. Think my hand has actually moulded itself into a claw-like grip that only works with that particular mouse... had a fancy Razer mouse that lasted under a day because I couldn't hold it comfortably!

 

Don't think they're available new anymore so one to find from the old stocks that most places have piled up in a cupboard somewhere

I've been using a Sharkoon Fireglider (in black) at home for the last couple of years. No obvious bling bar an illuminated DPI button just after the scroll wheel.

Believe it or not, I found a winner at PC World of all places.

 

I'm sure it's not as good as the Logitech that it's a blatant knock-off of but it fits my hand nicely. If anyone is interested I'll post again when I've tried it.

One of those would have done nicely, however you can't get them new any more and sellers on Amazon are gouging people for £90 for one. I like them but i don't like them that much!
