Another Digital Signage Thread

Howdy,

 

I am after putting up some digital signage on a budget. We have the TVs (50" LG TVs). We have either raspberry pi's or old smart phones with some mhl cables. My issue is that after installing Xibo and setting it up i found that there is no longer a linux client for free, and the android one is £15 per screen. Ideally we want this a cheap as possible.

 

Have any of you any recommendations for getting a client on a linux Pi or a totally different CMS for Pis?

costs for more than one screen. whilst initally we will only have one screen, i have 3+ that i want to get on

What are you intending to display? A really ghetto thing to do if it is just simple information, create the content in Openoffice or whatever, and save it to a location accessible by the Pi then have a script that runs on the Pi (by SSH) to close/re-open Openoffice with the file full screen therefore updating if there are changes made?

 

Proper bodgey and not entirely sure how possible it is hah
