jayrelf1997 Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Help needed!! I am having a problem with my RM CC4.5 build server, I keep getting this error: Communication exception: failed to send request or receive reply within maximum number of retries. Could someone let me know how to resolve this - have already tried restarting windows deployment services and have added the additional drivers to the build template. Thanks!!
Wubbalubbadub Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Get a server 2012r2 disk and build a vanilla network? [emoji23] 1
mrwobbly Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 You have the Microsoft NET security fix KB3142026 on your build server. Remove it and you should be ok.
mats Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 You have the Microsoft NET security fix KB3142026 on your build server. Remove it and you should be ok. Nice one, thanks.
cygnes Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 I too have this problem on our network, however the update has been declined in WSUS, but another update KB4014505 which RM mention in their article TEC5173330 says to remove also, the problem we seem to be facing is that KB4014505 does not show in WSUS, so we can't decline it, if we uninstall KB4014505 it keeps installing again, after reboot the servers. Any ideas ?
has Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Hi. Remove the following updates KB4014579 and KB4014573. This should fix the issue.
cygnes Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 ive just looked on our First server and they don't seem to be installed, what do those KB's do ?
has Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Its related to Dot Net Framework security patch. RM build started to work after removing the updates from the server and restarting it.
cygnes Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 RM have just fixed our issue and will releasing a fix for it, for us removing them did not resolve the issue as it kept installing again KB4014505. apparently some .NET Reg entry was allowing the update to install regardless of the WSUS setup, and must have been installing locally on each server. they are updating their guides to show this. somewhen...
DarrenBaberRM Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 As an FYI - we have now published the registry fragment on the CC4 TEC article (TEC5173330 - CC4 computer builds may fail at the Authenticate User phase) that describes the build failure. This needs to be merged onto your CC4 First Server (and Site Servers if you have a multi-site network). Regards, Darren
WingChunIT Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Thank you to you DarrenBaberRM, IT WORKED. Without your post I don't know what to do. DarrenBaberRM above post is only for school using RMCC4 console. The instruction is a bit difficult to follow, but if you need any help please let me know I'll try my best to help you.
HTCPCP Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 There is now a full RM Update for this - http://support.rm.com/GeneralDownload.asp?cref=DWN5724936&nav=0
