Taking private copies of documents

This is driving me crazy. Lets pretend that the below is a group that a teacher manages. They have created a document that they'd like everyone to have their own copy of it. What is the Office 365 version of right clicking and selecting copy and then going to your own OneDrive folder and clicking right click paste? How do people take private copies of documents?

I'm probably missing your point here but can't they just receive a copy as an e-mail attachment?

I think the usual way is to share it with those who want it and get them to click "Copy To".

@speckytecky Its not an unfair question, no. The problem is that we're pushing the use of Office 365 and O365 Group, with their own document collections. These O365 groups are made up of the teacher as the owner and students as members. We set this up en mass for staff. If the member of staff wanted to email a document to a single class they would need to individually add each of their 30 students as recipients.

Its all about trying to make it a simple as possible.

i THINK this is something thats on the roadmap for office 365 if not teachers dashboard can do it iirc and thats free*

Isn't that just duplication. If they are a member of the 365 group they can access it. In what context would they need to download it?

i assume to use it as a starting point for their own work then save it in their own onedrive rather than overwriting the "master copy"

Persuade anyone to use it. That's a good one @sted! I've advertised the, what are to me, fabulous features of O365 many a time in my school and not had the slightest glimmer of enthusiasm to engage and explore. They certainly prefer it to the Easymail it replaced but the newer staff often moan 'why can't I have Outlook; like I had at my old school'. Makes you wonder doesn't it!
