65" ctouch laser air USB connectivity problems

is any one having problems with 65" Ctouch screens not being detected via usb on windows 7?

Does your screens to a box on the wall which then has cables such as a usb from the box to the device ?

 

I have some similar problem which detects an then disconnects, this is down to the model of the laptop which we have purchased using the box method so we avoided it and gone with a direct usb cable to the touch screen which works.

 

It sounds like it doesn't like extenders for the usb

 

So I would have a try with going direct, if not try a different OS. I don't think it should require a specific driver other than one from Microsoft itself

no doesn't go into the wall box. I am using the usb lead provided straight into the pc. I am waiting for a phone call from medium. i am sure its a fault as i have 3 with the same fault. i have also used a 55" version with the same cables etc and that works fine.

Sounds like USB board problems, if you have tested the devices on a working screen then its definite the screens are faulty with the USB.

 

They should provide you with temp screens who ever you purchased them from and fix your original ones.

think they will provide replacements. they did last time we had a faulty screen.

USB cables longer than 4m may cause an issue, generally touch displays, because of the power demands of the touch surround, can be fussy over longer cable lengths and active extenders usually resolve the issue. That said it could be a fault, so best contact Medium UK to resolve if you haven't done so already.

We were using the cables that came with the screen. Its all been resolved now anyways. Medium replaced the screens as they were faulty. They were going to send someone out to test them until they asked me if the built in android working with finger touch and when I said no it doesn't, then they said they would replace them ' out of good faith'. Customer is now happy

Just a thought as we come across this now and again - If your using a long USB cable over 2mtr sometime this may cause a issue with connectivity.

Best thing (as you have done) is get medium out to sort the issue.

 

May be worth a try with a smaller cable if you have one.
