Hi All,

I am a windows guys and don't really know much about all this MAC stuff so need some help.

I have around 80 ipads, 20 Macbooks and need to know how to set this all up so it works together.

I have signed up with apple school manager which has now been approved and received a logon for light speed.

Any help with this would be great.

Many Thanks,

Have you signed upto Apple volume purchasing programme ? I have signed up for lightspeed and works really well, apart from the look of the platform which take getting used to its okay.

You will need to enrol the ipads into DEP and enrole them onto lightspeed using the platform, it should give you some instructions somewhere on the platform how to enrol them

Once its done you can manage yoru VPP account to purchase app and it goes through to lighspeed mdm so you can deploy them out.

I take it you want to do the same with your macbooks aswell?

Can you see the iPads in your DEP portal, you will need to ask your reseller (who needs to be part of the DEP program) to put in a DEP request for you. Lightspeed has only basic support of iOS9.3 at present so you can't configure Lightspeed at the moment for Apple Classroom or Shared iPad.

(sighs) You DO NOT need to sign up for VPP, this is now part of Apple School Manager.

Lightspeed have some limited support for managing Macs via the MDM, here's a complete list of what you can do..

Can I just mention it does work with the VPP account so you can if you want to, I wasn't aware of the apple school manager program

Lightspeed support is at a cost per device

What Brimstone is referring to is that since this is a new account, Microfine has signed up to Apple School Manager which combines both DEP and VPP so he doesn't need to sign up for any separate accounts as they're all in one now.
