As the title says, its that time of year.

want to record from a webcam the chicks hatching,

but need some software to do it as the software i've got will mean the video if left running over night will be 200GB

is there any software that can pick up on movement and autostart recording?

I've used netcam studio to do this before, if you email them they will give you a free licence as a School.

i am looking to the scientific journal of this so that it can be replicated and to see if i can get our science department to do it. then i take the chickens home for the coup

We used obs and live streamed to YouTube. Worked a treat even if the camera we used was a little over kill...
