ParentPay - Where do you install MIS:Sync?

Hi

 

Was just curious where everybody installs the MIS:Sync app for ParentPay?

 

In my head, I assumed that I would just install it on the server and schedule an update to parentpay nightly or something like that, however noticed the manual says that it isn't recommended to do a scheduled sync. Hence, asking the question.

 

Do people use the schedule sync and do you install it on the server, or do you install it on an admin machine somewhere?

We have both as staff etc is manual input into ParentPay so needs an admin machine. (Also means any changes to students can be quickly kicked)

 

Then have it automated on server to do daily sync for students anyway

We have it installed on an admin machine and do not use schedule sync as per the docs. We've not had any issues having it setup like this that I can think of.

That was going to be my solution until it appears that Staff need to be done manually - I expected them to be automated too.

yeah its nothing major just make sure you write the dfe number correct. Thats the only thing i found annoying.

We have our installed on our finance teams computers who manage the induction of students and staff.

I have access to parent pay so can install it on my machine if need be but this hasn't been necessary.

I have ours on the biostore server and use a script to map the sims drive for the scheduled sync. To be honestit worked when i did it, but my role has changed since that time a year ago and whoever took charge now i think has turned off autoupdate n syncs manually for reasons unknown to me

On my computer, We run it manually when I remember in the morning. Occasionally I get moaned at cos X student doesnt have his FSM showing.

The staff is a manual input into the system.
