Arthur Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 After having mine for just under a week, I am finding the battery to be a letdown. Do you have a lot of apps installed or apps that drain batteries fast like Facebook's?
jmak Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 After having mine for just under a week, I am finding the battery to be a letdown. Its not last as long as my iPhone 6 did. Do you have a lot of apps installed or apps that drain batteries fast like Facebook's? He's been playing Pokemon Go all day[emoji14] 2
bossman Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 (edited) @FN_GM I've found that having the screen brightness turned down to almost the lefthand side on the slider still allows me to see the screen quite clearly and thus saves me masses of battery life, been on Pokeman Go all day plus facebook and the like, messenger and sms and still have 60% battery life left. Normally get 1.5 to 2 days out of my phone although its not as good as my OP2 which always gave me 2 days + a couple of hours Edited July 13, 2016 by bossman
FN-GM Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Do you have a lot of apps installed or apps that drain batteries fast like Facebook's? looked at the apps but I don't have loads on. I have turned the screen brightness down now, see how that goes. The mobile reception is much better than my iPhone. It no longer breaks up at home!
ZeroHour Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 The mobile reception is much better than my iPhone. It no longer breaks up at home! Regarding signal, what network are you on?
FN-GM Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Regarding signal, what network are you on? Im on Tesco (uses the o2 network). 1
Gaz Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Im on Tesco (uses the o2 network). Probably best to keep that information private these days. Theres a lot of social engineering attacks at the moment where phone companies have been tricked into giving away sim cards, once that happens they then have access to reset any of your passwords circumventing 2FA because the fallback for 2FA is usually your phone number, which you now no longer own. I'll get my tinfoil hat back on now.
DJ-1701 Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I'll get my tinfoil hat back on now. You took it off?! You fool! Now they own your thoughts! Seriously though, an interesting point... though in the physical world one could just 'borrow' your phone too, if texts appear on the lock screen.

That's why I disable that sort of thing It shows up that I have a message, but the contents are hidden. 1
gshaw Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Was just about to buy one of these after phone shop made a mess of repairing my One M8 but just been told it's iPhone 6+ sized, is that correct? If so it's out for me as that's too big to keep comfortably in a pocket etc
jmak Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Same screen size, smaller external dimensions.... I have 2 pairs of jeans that my Oneplus 2 won't fit in comfortably, but fits in all my other pockets...
FN-GM Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 If so it's out for me as that's too big to keep comfortably in a pocket etc Oddly enough its ok. I thought it would be an issue as well.
cherd84 Posted July 15, 2016 Author Posted July 15, 2016 Argh. They've attempted to deliver mine today and I've missed it. Anybody know if DHL might try again later or will I have to reschedule?
DJ-1701 Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Argh. They've attempted to deliver mine today and I've missed it. Anybody know if DHL might try again later or will I have to reschedule? I believe they put a card through the door stating what they have decided to do in this case. Out of interest, what date did they say the Estimated Delivery was? Due to when you got your dispatched info, I assume 18th/19th depending on accessories? If that is the case I would have thought/hoped they would update you in case you were working or something. Mine says Estimate Delivery of the 20th, I ordered it after work on the 12th, dispatched on the 13th, only using standard delivery (priory had the same date).

Apologies, I haven't been on over the weekend. It got returned to regional depot and I rescheduled for today. Just been to collect it at lunch (arranged for one of those locker drop off points this time instead). My original delivery date was on Fri 15th (standard delivery) just I wasn't in to receive it! Now unboxed and it seems gigantic after I got used to a cheap Moto E! Just trying out the dash charge feature, est. 22 mins to full charge from 55% Edited July 18, 2016 by cherd84 1
synaesthesia Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Dash charge is great. Mine seems to last a couple of days now and I can still plug it in when I wake up and it's fully charged before I leave for work. Loving the camera on it too, some of the shots I've taken with it are great and it's so quick to shoot compared to other phones! 1

Good time to get it, last day of the school year tomorrow (and I'm term time only) so there'll be plenty of photo opps to try it out with over the next few weeks! Currently got all my apps and a system update queued until I get home. Pesky 2GB data limit.
synaesthesia Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 First thing I did was ditch Virgin Mobile so I could get on GiffGaff, get 4G with a 4GB limit for the same price
cherd84 Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 I have considered making the switch to GiffGaff but I have been scare mongered by them using O2's network and the 4G coverage isn't as good as EE's. I shall ask around some friends in my neck o' the woods to see what there's is like for those 2 networks methinks.
DJ-1701 Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Although due Wednesday, my OnePlus 3 just arrived. Noticed the screen protector is a bit narrower than I would have thought, leaving a gap around the top, bottom, left and right of the phone. Placed my Nano Sim in... now to experiment I guess.
cherd84 Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 I can has apps! It's the little things after having a phone with 8GB internal storage. 1
DJ-1701 Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 So, hooked up the phone to the PC last night. Transfer data. Noticed this morning that the phone was at 1% Battery... I guess there is not enough oomf to power it while using it as a mass storage device (oops). Only got about 30% charge before leaving work. Phones been in my pocket until 11am with all the Apps closed , WiFi off and Mobile Data off and... it's dead... Any suggestions for extending the battery life? @Boredguy has suggested looking for settings with regard to the bands used for telecommunications, which I will look for when I have power.

Should have Dash Charged it, would have got 60% in no time
