Any other O365 schools managed to get on the Classroom Preview?

I set on up this morning for the fun of it.

First time it did not want to click the create button, but was fine a second time I went through the wizard.

It's looking quite good at the moment. Wondering if you can set classes up based on AD groups though, seems not for now. And probably not until they have their integration with MIS going

For now staff would have to create their own notebooks so some integration either with AD or just 365 groups would be handy but it's a nice start.

Might see if anyone wants to use it next term.

I'm going to try and push it, at the moment a teacher is running Google Classroom (with my blessing - at the time, nothing better and no time to do anything different) however I am not keen on two separate services and want to keep everything in one hat.

 

We're small so I think it could work for us at the moment. This does look good!

We've been working with Microsoft on SDS in the UK focussing on automation and MIS Integration, and I should note that if you are using the CSV uploads then the data will go outside of the EU. I would not recommend using live data until it has been fully released for the UK market at which point the data will stay within the EU.

I would expect that some, if not all, of the Classroom data itself is also stored in Classroom itself which is currently hosted in the US.

 

Of course if you are using test data, then all should be OK.

I had a look, said I needed my mailbox in O365 so stopped in my tracks

Added the subscription yesterday, but as soon as tried to apply the classroom license to a user a got an error saying 'you have assigned licenses that need one or more addtional services'

Raised a case with Microsoft and they informed me I can't apply the license because I don't have the subscription names 'Office 365 for Education' mine are named

Office 365 ProPlus for Faculty

Office 365 ProPlus for Students

which I puchased using my ees agreement. Confused.com:confused:

The confusion here might be cause by the subscription name itself. Your subscriptions are educational in a sense that those are part of Microsoft academic offers for educational institutions. What I am actually talking about is the subscription which itself is called 'Office 365 Education'. Use this link https://products.office.com/en-gb/student?ms.officeurl=getoffice365&tab=schools

 

IS it just me that's using the wrong Office 365 subscription?
