[school base] DODDLE KS3 reporting/Targets

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help us please. Are any secondary schools using Doddle for reporting starting September 2016. If yes, how are you setting target steps and what sort of reports are being sent home.

Any help/feedback would be appreciated.

We looked into a couple of companies, doddle being one of them, and found them all rather lacking for a secondary environment. The sales/presenters didn't seem to understand the differences (not just one teacher for most lessons, number of different classes that a member of staff teaches) as well as very limited reporting for a larger cohort.

 

Doodle were planning to 'start development' around this time for their, more customised, secondary product.

 

OTrack looked more promising, and their pricing seemed much lower (we were gobsmacked when they quoted), but were missing some things for us.

 

We've decided to put a system in place ourselves.

Thank you for this , this is helpful. Are you also based at a secondary school, can I ask ragerding KS3 targets how you are setting these year on year, have you any examples.

Also in a secondary school. In a IT Tech role so not completely sure as to the ins and outs of the targets.

 

But I think the overall plan is to have 4 levels within each 'Statement' /target with a 'marked complete' for each stage. so that if a student is making progress through their target this can be recorded at the right level. Subsequent assessments can 'upgrade' to a higher level (again, not exactly sure of the names of these levels) after more work.

 

These statements are linked to different units, within courses, within departments. We're using this as a way of curriculum mapping too, so adding an outline of the units and some general resources to a 'Unit Overview' page.
