Heavy rain overnight and a bit overcast now. Rain is forecast for later which could be a problem as we are going to an outdoor BSO concert :(

Raining pretty heavily here right now which is a shame because a colleague invited us to a barbeque if the weather was good. Looking like we won't be going at the moment...

Yesterday was spitting all day. Today is just overcast currently.

@DaveP doing roast dinner if your interested ;)

Very kind but Hertfordshire -> Gloucestershire is a bit of a trot when we were planning to go only a few miles.

Thanks, all the same.:)

Thunder is back. Started raining about 20mins ago.

No lightening yet.

We had two bouts of heavy rain earlier. No thunder or lightning, but still quite humid. Similar forecast for tomorrow: Where a downpour does hit it could be VERY heavy.

Edit: Heavy rain right now and one flash of lightning/roll of thunder.

Edit 2: Although it doesn't show in the image (captured with my phone) below the colours were really distinct, even for me with my colour vision issues:

A STORM chaser captures a huge burst of wind and rain which explodes in the sky and crashes to the ground. Shot on August 8, this dramatic timelapse was shot by photographer Bryan Snider, 29, in Tucson, Arizona. The incredibly detailed footage shows a weather event known as a wet microburst which occurs when a cooled column of air sinks rapidly through the middle of a thunder storm. The unique storm phenomena affects an area of no more than two and a half miles and can generate winds of over 150 mph.

We had a 10 minute thunderstorm yesterday, was enough to take power down to the school twice!!

Loudest thunder I've heard in my life, so loud it went right past my noise cancelling headphones and still was very loud!

About 1:00 to 1:30 today it got VERY humid. I was sure we were in for a proper downpour, but nothing happened. :(

It is now pleasantly warm with lots of sun.

Right now we have rivers where there shouldn't be and at least 3 buildings with water ingress - one completely flooded. One river is a couple of inches short of the aircon compressors for the main server room. Eeeek!

Fingers crossed for you. Not sounding good at all :(

Just arrived home. We had the fire brigade on site to rescue some folks in a low lying building, 1ft of water inside and it was still rising. That was music so lot's of amps, instruments etc will be just lying about. I looked in on an ADT room with computers (some of our best kit!), milling machines, 3d printers etc - water pouring in from the ceiling - most of it will be ruined. School will close tomorrow while we try and clear up. Quite heartbreaking to see :-(.

That is not good at all :( Eduhobnobs seem an inadequate expression of sympathy

Well. Watching tv on sky and get the error "your sky hd box isn't getting any satellite signal"

Went outside and look around and heard a lovely rumble of thunder.

Not heard anymore since. :(
