We've been contemplating moving some of our email services to O365 but what is holding us back is that with onsite email we have had exactly 0 issues in the past two years and only 1 in the two years before that but I log into the O365 admin page almost everyday and almost everyday (probably 29 out of 30 times) exchange is shown as being in a degraded state.

They don't seem to be catastrophic but for most of last week there seemed to be an issue with ios meeting updates and the week before that a problem with exporting mailboxes and the week before that it was something else.

I honestly don't think I've seen the exchange service in the green working perfectly state more than half a dozen times in the past year.

My manager says it would be embarrassing to have our systems alert ticker bar on our signage everyday just to explain what is wrong with email that week when currently it is almost never employed for anything.

Most of the problems don't apear to be showstopping but for those of you that use it are there niggly problems really that often using the service?

We have been using it for 3 years and issues on the dashboard have not effected us. Usually those problems effect a small percentage of users.

We've been on it 2 years and not had any problems with those alerts. They're always obscure.

The problem you do get with O365 is when Microsoft implement "helpful" new features out of nowhere, like Clutter or defaulting to Reply All, and then wait a month or so before adding a PowerShell command that lets you disable it across your tenancy.

We moved to office 365 at Easter from a local exchange 2010 box.

How I wish I could roll back time and not go down that path. Exchange 2010 was just so easy - as you say, no problems, stuff just works. We have massive problems using outlook now due to lag basically. On Tuesday I gave up using email altogether (the O365 webmail is frustrating in terms of usability). Its just so random. For me, Monday was fine, Tuesday unusable, Wednesday okay, today okay, but other colleagues get an unusable experience on different days.

I hnow have an edit from our principal to fix the problem as a matter of upmost importance, but all the diags return that everything is fine. But its not - its awful.

I keep trying to think of ways that I can put the genie back in the bottle.

We don't, you should get that fixed :)

Sounds like a filtering issue to me.

I've found Online Mode can be laggy, causing Outlook to hang (especially when going through the calendar); switching to Cached Mode has helped in that regard, although it has its own set of caveats.

No issues with office 365 or live@edu before that.

Been using it 5 years now I think. I couldn't imagine going back to a locally hosted server.
