The Wednesday night will be quite casual and given the widely dispersed timings that people will be arriving at we may just camp out in the pub next door as well!

Will it be streamed online, again?

We do plan on streaming it (barring any last min technical difficulties) and will post up details closer to the date.

Why is that?

I thought they might have been there to explain why their software has been buggy and show us if there's anything new on the horrizon. Ive heard version 6 is on the horrizon as well as some other bits and pieces.

Maybe they dont want to be bombarded with so many angry network managers ;)

If you've been to an EG conf before you'll know we don't allow our sessions to be sales or product pitches.

We select companies to talk on their particular are of expertise in a vendor agnostic way and whilst we do allow them to use their products as examples, you can expect the information given to be pretty generic accross the spectrum of the topic area.

We are also slightly limited for exhibitor space as well this year as the Space Centre has opened up certain areas that were traditionally used for exhibitions to the public as it is half term.

Otherwise they would have all been under the nuclear missiles!

What are the transport options for getting from the hotel to the space center?

Well, it's just over 2 miles by car or taxi and I'm sure there will be plenty of people willing to give you a lift as theree are many staying at the hotel.

If you want to see the organised chaos that is an EDIT show setup (and have a desire to get up stupidly early) you can get a lift in with me!

I'll get @ZeroHour to create an EDIT 2016 forum and we can start a car-share thread.

Hahaha, very apt! Thinking back to past events, i thought smoothwall showed us what was coming in newer versions, im sure they trailed the 802.1x feature last time in preston ?? anyway it would have been nice to have them as an exhibitor at least but i understand space would be an issue, thought in a "space" center you wouldn't have thought so... :getmycoat:

Looking forward to it anyway, be good to meet the usual faces and see some new ones.

As event sponsor thay are allowed a little lee-way ;)

Usually we had Tom Newton talking about the latest internet threats but he had to cancel at the last minute on the last conf IIRC.

As Tom has moved on now he won't be here this year but Smoothwall are due to talk about Safeguarding.

As this is my first EduGeek meet - what's the dress code? Usual half term work wear - tatty jeans and T-shirt ready for crawling into those rarely accessed areas of school? Or something slightly more formal?

Thanks Timbo - I could deploy the tux but I think I'll dress a little less formally just to be on the safe side!

@Dos_Box - I can't remember if I had to request a parking pass when I signed up? If I didn't ask before I will need one!

Dress as casual as you like really, jeans and t-shirt are fine.

I'll be posting the parking passes up as soon as I get a few jobs cleared up. They are a 'fill-it-out-yourself' type.

In reality, thanks @smurfomatic and @timbo343 I was wondering the same thing. :)

For the record - I will NOT becoming in fancy dress

Although if anyone wants to bring their ridiculously expense light sabres for me to have a play with that will be acceptable

Quick bump FAO all attendees. If your plans change for dining with us or attendance, can you update your EventBrite booking and/or contact me by PM please? I have badges to print and a restaurant to book :)

We will be eating here both nights at 6pm:

The Heathley Park in Leicester, Fayre & Square

The menu should cater for most tastes and food intolerances. It is next door to the Premier Inn Leicester Central
