garethEds Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Afternoon, I've been messing around with some iPads and Apple Configurator 2 and think I have it sussed (it's good things and it's bad things). However one thing I cannot get to do is set the iPad clock. For some strange reason at 15:09 today (just now) the three iPads I have re-prepared and applied config profiles to have their clock set at 07:22. I've checked their settings and can confirm that I have the Time and Date setting set to Auto. Even when I connect them to the wifi and log into our captive portal the clock does not change. They are connected to an iMac which has the correct time but alas nothing is happening. Any help appreciated. Cheers Gareth
garethEds Posted April 27, 2016 Author Posted April 27, 2016 Is Location Services enabled? Oh darn. It was turned off. Any idea where in Configurator 2 I can set this to be on? Cannot find it at all. Not the best piece of software ever. GJE
garethEds Posted April 27, 2016 Author Posted April 27, 2016 Apple have missed so much with their configurator tool. There is so much I would like to switch off - but it seems they fail to see it. I wonder who we contact at Apple to suggest things?

j224 Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 I wonder who we contact at Apple to suggest things? Just send Tim Cook an email. Think his address is [email protected] 1

I wonder who we contact at Apple to suggest things? @garethedmondson It seems @Quackers had success using the Apple Feedback feature for pointing out other issues in the past. https://www.apple.com/feedback/ Have you told Apple? https://www.apple.com/feedback/ Apple really do listen to feedback. I used it once about Profile Manager last year Apple got in contact. This year i emailed Tim Cook saying there is still more needed for Managing iPads and listed things such as Wallpapers being changed by kids, and the pain of Apple ID's. What happened? I get contacted by the Director for education for Apple by email saying he will get some Senior Engineers to contact me, then have a conference call with them to talk about my email to Tim and the issues i highlighted. Hence i've known for ages Apple IDs are going (but was told in confidence by them so had to keep quiet on it) and other things i wished for have been addressed in iOS 9. Honestly use the feedback forms to get your opinions to them, they are not just trashed.
